Thanks for taking the time out to look at this blog.

The aim of this is to try and find like minded people that would like to form a guild together and develop that guild with a shared ideal. I think this is a better medium than spamming trade and randomly asking people to "plz sign charter you can leave when we have 10"

If you are like me you might have been in several guilds and whilst these guilds may have been excellent in their own right something may have just not felt right for you. This has been the case for me and I used to run a guild on a different server that worked well up to a point but then imploded possibly as we didn't get some fundamental things right from the start e.g. we had anyone join us out of desperation and this ultimately led to our demise. I feel it is important to get things right from the beginning and do not want to make the same mistakes again.

If you are interested in progressing through the game whilst having fun in a "safe environment" this could be the place for you. Clearly Warcraft is not a safe place, what I mean is a place where you can log into the game looking forward to playing with your guildies or helping them out in one way or another.

Ultimately I see the guild progressing through as much game content as humanly (or Orc in my case) possible to maximise your enjoyment and the enjoyment of others and accept this means raiding. The guild will have this as a focus but I wouldn't want it to be the be all and end all as I accept that not everyone wants to or can raid for different reasons. That is why I chose the name Casually Epic as I feel there is a place for casual players (e.g. levelling characters and gaining achievements, perhaps doing the odd raid) and players that want to raid on a regular basis. I don't think this would be a guild for the hardcore just players that have commitments because they are adults but still want to play the game to their maximum whatever that may be.

Once the guild is formed then we will vote for the most sensible days to raid and set an agenda (this would be flexible though depending upon content and the players in the guild).

Furthermore I will design a proper web site with a forum for the guild, start a Facebook group, get our own Vent channel and a couple of bank tabs initially. Guilds are going to be more important in Cataclysm and need to be based on solid foundations. I do not want the guild to become an "Alt Guild" a dumping ground for bank characters or rarely played toons that makes the guild look vibrant on the roster but in reality isn't - successful guilds need active players that are prepared to get involved and enjoy their game with other players in the guild as well as their other friends.

First though please consider the following:-

Ask yourself these questions and answer honestly and if the answer is yes to the vast majority then this is almost definitely the guild for you.

1. Are you aged over 21 or if slightly younger act like an adult (let's face it many 21+ people do not do this)?

2. Do you realise that real people sit behind these computers playing games and don't like to hurt the feelings of others?

3. Do you like to socialise with others in game in various formats?

4. Do you mind helping others (I don't mean boosting I mean helping e.g. co-operating trade or in groups)?

5. Do you want your game time to be fun but productive?

6. Are you prepared to try out new forms of communicating with your guildies as it is the 21st Century and all e.g. Vent/Twitter/Facebook group?

7. Are you willing to take some time out to prepare and research your class and fights when/if you are part of the raid team/s?

8. Do you realise this is a game and other things in real life are more important?

9. Are you in for the long haul and not just expecting to leap to the Lich King straight away?

additionally

If you answer any of the following yes then please look elsewhere....

1. Are you a bigot?

2. Are you a racist?

3. Are you an elitist jerk that abuses Gear Score or Damage addons to make other players look silly?

4. Are you spamming total nonsense/abuse in Trade?

5. Do you dps in pugs yelling at the tank "go, go, go" or at the healer "heal ffs"?

6. This is an alt I rarely play as my main is in an established raiding guild - sound like your application?

7. Think all that matters is the gear score of a player?

Please note at this point the guild has not even formed I want to find enough like minded people to set the ball rolling and to develop it before diving in and failing like so many others.

Specific Guild Rules to be added - as the Guild Leader I will have two officers to help recruit and help in other ways

Hi there

My name is Matt and I have pledged my alliegance to the upcoming guild .

I have been asked by our soon-to-be illustrious GM to get things going with a Facebook group.

The group is entitled "Casually Epic - SWC". Membership of the Facebook group is approved by myself or the GM himself. Admission to the guild is by our GM's disgression.

If you are a soul who shares our ideals, then I hope to see you there soon.
